# Arena

The Arena is a combat-focused area in Ponsians where Ponx fights monsters to gain experience (XP) and progress as a character. Unlike mining, the Arena is centered on active combat and risk-and-reward gameplay.

Monsters in the Arena grant XP when defeated. This experience increases Ponx’s character level, which is a core progression metric in the game. If Ponx is defeated in combat, there is no permanent penalty — the player can start a new attempt and return to the Arena to continue progressing.

Arena participation is limited to ensure balance and prevent excessive farming. Each player has 4 Arena attempts per day. After each attempt, a 30-minute cooldown is applied before the next attempt becomes available. If all daily attempts are used, players must wait until the daily reset to enter the Arena again.

As Ponx’s level increases, new upgrades become available. Higher levels unlock stronger character improvements and access to more advanced item upgrades. This creates a direct link between Arena combat, character growth, and long-term progression.

The Arena encourages players to improve their equipment, plan their attempts carefully, and steadily grow stronger over time. While mining fuels the economy, the Arena defines character power and progression depth.
