# Mining

Mining is the core activity in Ponsians and the main way players obtain resources used in the game economy.

Your character, Ponx, explores the underground mine and uses a pickaxe to break rocks and collect resources. Every mining action is part of a system designed around time limits, regeneration cycles, and player progression.

### **The Mine**

The Mine is an underground area accessible from the main map. Inside the Mine, players move across a grid-based map filled with mineable rocks. Each rock has its own health and resource type.

To start mining, Ponx approaches a rock and uses the pickaxe to deal damage. When a rock’s health reaches zero, it drops one of the available resources:

* Gold
* Silver
* Bronze

The dropped resource is automatically added to the player’s backpack if there is available space.

### **Rock health and regeneration**

Rocks do not disappear permanently. Each rock:

* has a maximum health value(100hp),
* can be mined by multiple players over time(1 hit=1 hp),
* regenerates its health based on fixed 6-hour regeneration windows.

This system ensures that resources remain available throughout the day while limiting excessive farming in short periods of time.

### **Mining limits**

To keep the economy balanced, mining is subject to several limits:

* Daily mining cap\
  Each player has a maximum amount of resources that can be mined per day.
* Cooldown 1 sec between hits\
  After each pickaxe hit, Ponx must wait before mining again.
* Backpack capacity\
  If the backpack is full, resources cannot be collected until space is freed.

These limits encourage players to plan their sessions and upgrades carefully.

### **Mining efficiency and progression**

Mining effectiveness can be improved through character upgrades:

* Higher mining efficiency increases the chance of obtaining higher-value resources.
* Increased backpack capacity allows Ponx to stay in the Mine longer.
* Faster movement speed reduces travel time between rocks.

Upgrades require in-game resources, directly linking mining performance to long-term progression.

### **Risk and interaction**

Mining is not only about resource gathering. The Mine is a shared space where multiple players operate at the same time. This creates indirect competition for optimal routes, regeneration cycles, and timing.

Future updates may expand mining with additional mechanics, hazards, or interactions, but the core system is built around fairness, accessibility, and predictable rules.

### **Why mining matters**

Mining is the foundation of the entire Ponsians economy. Every point earned on the Market starts with resources mined by Ponx. Efficient mining leads to stronger market participation, better rewards, and faster progression across all game systems.
